The epsilon regime of dilation chiral perturbation theory

What: The epsilon regime of dilation chiral perturbation theory

When: October 28, 2019 at 14:15

Where: The CP3 Meeting Room

Who: Kim Splittorff (NBI)

The seminar will begin with 15 min intended for master and PhD students, explaining what the epsilon regime is and the magic which makes the results from this regime so rich.

The main lecture will focus on the epsilon regime of chiral perturbation theory extended to include an additional Goldstone mode associated with the spontaneous breaking of dilatation symmetry. Resent lattice QCD results for QCD with large number of flavours have found a mesonic mode with a mass comparable to that of the pions. The results presented in this lecture potentially can assist the identification of the nature of this light mode.
